![]() It was re-released in 1997 and earned another half a billion dollars. The movie ranks as the #12 film of all time in terms of box office take. Like its predecessor, it also earned more in rental dollars than in theaters. ![]() The film took in over $1.5 billion in inflation-adjusted dollars and more than half a billion non-adjusted. The second film on our list of top Star Wars movie money makers is 1980’s The Empire Strikes Back. Right now, it’s looking like the latest Star Wars film might never steal the throne.ģ. The graph shows a comparison of the two movies’ earnings. The chart below shows The Force Awakens worldwide gross so far vs Avatar’s $2.78 billion. The money made by this new installment in the George Lucas created saga easily crushed the previous opening weekend record, a $209 million domestic total set by Jurassic World. That’s what was necessary to hit $2.8 billion and steal the throne. The film just didn’t bring people back for 7 or 8 theater visits. It’s #1 without the inflation adjustment. It’s just not the biggest movie money maker ever. It’s at #2 on the list of inflation-adjusted Star Wars films. The Force Awakens is still a HUGE Star Wars money maker. Avatar is still tops for non-adjusted dollars. The #1 movie ever is still Gone with the Wind 1939. In inflation adjusted dollars, Star Wars 1977 is still the #1 Star Wars movie. However, there’s no longer a chance the movie could blow away every box office record ever. The movie opened on 12/17/15 in limited release. As of 5/4/16 it’s pulled in $2.066 billion worldwide and $936 million in the U.S. If you’ve sensed a great disturbance in the force, it’s because we haven’t seen a Star Wars box office like this since 1977. According to industry estimates, merchandise eclipsed the film’s box office money, raking in over $14 billion dollars to date.Īlso see: How Much Money Has Every Marvel Movie Made?Ģ. His decision was seen as foolish by many in the industry at the time, since movie toys had not traditionally been big sellers. The movie was the first film to make over $300 million. In exchange for full merchandising rights, George Lucas agreed to earn a lower salary. Maybe even more mind blowing is that the film took in slightly more in rental money than it did in theaters. Re-released in 1997, the movie earned another $858 million at the worldwide box office. Not bad for a movie with an $11 million dollar budget. That puts it behind only 1939’s Gone With the Wind as the top grossing film of all time. Without adjusting for inflation, the movie drops to #3 with a still impressive $775 million. The original Star Wars, released in 1977, tops the Star Wars movie money list with $3 billion dollars at the worldwide box office.
![]() I did just that thing, scanning my entire PC as the bear tried to get my attention through automated responses. Don't touch it, don't get involved, just open up your virus software, and scan away. I knew exactly how to deal with a virus like this. I froze upon seeing this new, malicious fellow. A small desktop companion who would attempt to converse with me, likely for my credit card information. Since I'd started watching Vinesauce, I came to the conclusion that he was very similar to Bonzi Buddy. He looked like something straight out of Windows XP. Sure enough, while playing around with my new program, a small, badly animated blue bear climbed up over my taskbar and stood up. I clicked download, and the program was soon installed to my computer, no doubt bundled with a virus. I was still very uneducated about where to go and where not to go on the internet. White text in bold said "AUDACITY DOWNLOAD," a download link beneath it. The webpage was poorly made, just "Master Downloads" in a red comic sans, like some kind of Microsoft Word default a grade school would use for announcements, on a solid black background. I downloaded Audacity, since it's well known, although the site I got it from was. If I were smart enough to just go out and buy myself a nicer microphone, none of this would have happened.īut my younger self decided it would be cheaper to go on the shadiest end of the web and download some random program. This was back when I used to make Let's Plays, and my new microphone had a lot of noise, a term which refers to that loud hissing in the background that comes from a sensitive microphone. It all started when I decided to browse the web for a good audio editing program. Well, there's one story I prefer not to talk about. One could easily say that my internet experiences were one of the best things to happen to me, right? (Seven years, come March of 2016.) I could tell you stories about my experiences, whether they be of long-lasting friendships or, most importantly, how YouTube had helped me to conquer a crippling social phobia and anxiety. I've been a content producer on YouTube for a long time now. In Detroit: Become Human 2019, you will face an issue described in tons of sci-fi books and movies – robots that can feel and that want to gain freedom from their creators. In that light, a question arises: can such elaborate software emulate the most sophisticated thing we have, something that radically distinguishes us from machines – emotions and free will? Look at what we have: computers, smart devices, nanotechnologies… Even now there are researches working on the first human-like robots that will be capable of not only performing some technical functions, but actually emulating human behavior. “L” meaning to be the “left shift” key.A few decades ago we couldn’t even imagine that very soon the best minds of cybernetic science will discover artificial intelligence and that it will be used so widely in all spheres of modern life. There were also some cues that weren’t immediately obvious, e.g. ![]() Several times I would get halfway through the animation and be returned to the start. ![]() Open doors took some patience as well as you need to hold the left mouse button and move the mouse downwards to push down on a door latch. It’s unclear whether it was an issue of moving too fast, moving in too wide a berth or not holding down the proper mouse button. At times the game would tell me I moved the mouse in the wrong direction when clearly I hadn’t. Using a Logitech G700s mouse on a Razer exactMat caused me grief, especially in scenes with slow motion. For whatever reason executing a lot of the mouse cues seemed to be an exercise in patience. The biggest and perhaps only issue that Beyond: Two Souls has is that in the area of controls, more specifically execution of mouse cues and clarity of others. ![]() True this is standard fare for games of this type nowadays but even so, it adds another dimension to the overall gameplay experience. Looks Like Strangely A Lot Like Willem DafoeĪnother nice touch in Beyond: Two Souls is that at the end of each chapter you’re ranked on the choices you made versus other players. There are also points in the story where you need to hunt for objects to interact with and at times you get to control the story by selecting from two or more onscreen answers or make a hardcore action decision, e.g. Actions play out by you the player seeing and executing on-screen visual cues much like any of the Telltale Games. The game is very story intensive and you control, most of the time, the main character Jodie, voiced brilliantly by actress Ellen Page. So why should we care about a six-year-old game in this age where PC games are abundant? This is our review of Beyond: Two Souls on PC.īeyond: Two Souls is perfectly stated as “an interactive drama and action-adventure” game. Quantic Dream, you might remember, is the same team that released the excellent adventure game Detroit: Become Human last May in 2018. But, developer Quantic Dream has done just that by bringing Beyond: Two Souls to the PC. ![]() It seems like an unprecedented move to bring a game to the PC platform six years after originally being released on the Playstation 3 and then two years later on the Playstation 4. |
